Designing for growth

The variety of YSA Design’s maritime and land-based projects is increasing and we are in a new growth phase in response to strengthening markets, after last year’s reorganisation to ensure we live up to and develop the reputation for excellence established by our founders.

For those who are not aware, YSA Design was rebranded after a management ‘buy-in’ at Petter Yran & Bjørn Storbraaten, which built its renown for cruise ship and land-based design innovation over a 30-year period. The ‘new’ management team will therefore be very familiar to customers, but are now reconfigured as a partnership of equals.

That team is led by Anne-Mari Gullikstad as Chief Executive, working alongside longstanding associates Einar B. Jungård, Jan Krefting, Trond Sigurdsen and Tov Arne Svalestuen, founders Petter and Bjørn, and existing partner Gunnar Aaserud.

Developing unique designs for cruise ships and land-based customers while working to ensure that solutions are in harmony with the ship or surrounding environment remain the top priorities for YSA Design. Accordingly, while we feel that our new logo has a more contemporary ‘feel’, we also think it represents a company with more than 30 years of experience.

Feedback to date has been very positive from our existing clients, while the handing on of management responsibilities has reinforced YSA Design’s continung market commitment for the returning customers we have worked well with in the past and with potential clients.

In welcoming you to YSA Design Insights, we can also report that it has been very timely in terms of raising our profile in the Asia Pacific region at a time of significant change in our core cruiseship market. We hope you enjoy the first edition of our new newsletter.
